What I Actually Wear Every Week (No Matter What)

I’ve always had a hard time breaking down my styling patterns because so much of it is instinctive. Consider this a starting point.

I’ve realized recently that while I love finding new pieces and pulling together “chic” outfits, my real-life wardrobe is actually pretty repetitive, in the best way. I don’t think I’m someone who has a strict uniform across the board, but I definitely have a weekly rhythm of outfits that I come back to without even thinking.

If I zoom out, there are really three versions of me that get dressed every single week—and I’ve gotten very clear on what works for each one.

1. The workout day (3–4 times a week)
This is honestly the most consistent part of my wardrobe. I’m working out 3–4 times a week, and over time I’ve realized that if I feel good in what I’m wearing, I’m so much more likely to actually go. So I treat my workout outfits the same way I treat any other outfit—I want it to feel considered.

I rotate between Set Active leggings and Beyond Yoga capris—both just fit really well and hold up. I’ve tried a lot, and these are the ones I actually reach for. Over that, I almost always throw on a Polo Ralph Lauren sweatshirt. It gives the look a more “real outfit” feel vs. just activewear, especially if I’m out and about before or after. I also love mixing in a vintage sweatshirt or sports quarter-zip—it makes the whole thing feel a little more interesting and less expected.

Shoes are always Asics. They’re functional, but still feel slightly more elevated than your typical gym sneaker. And realistically, I’m wearing this look for half the day—coffee, errands, emails, and long walks with my dog—so it has to actually function beyond just the workout.

If I want to level it up, I’ll sometimes swap sneakers for riding boots over leggings. It instantly transforms the look—you truly wouldn’t know I just came from Pilates. But if I do this, I always add a sweater or a trench to pull it together and make it feel intentional.

One thing I’ve learned here is that if the outfit doesn’t transition into real life, I won’t wear it as much. So everything has to feel like it could exist outside of the gym.

2. Dinner Out (1–2 nights a week)
This is where I rely the most on a formula. I don’t want to be standing in my closet overthinking a dinner outfit—I want something I know will work every time.

For me, that’s a pencil skirt. I have a few that I rotate, but it’s always the same idea—it instantly makes me feel pulled together without being overly “done.” It’s also one of those pieces that works year-round, which I love.

Side note—I was just asked this on my recent trip to Comporta with Longchamp. We went around and shared the one outfit that felt the most “us.” When it was my turn, I didn’t even have to think: pencil skirt, crewneck sweater, and something fun in the accessories. That combination just feels the most like me—tailored, fresh, and a little playful.
